Based upon a cockade worn by a member of the 46th Virginia in 1861, this intricate example is made from many yards of silk ribbon and is entirely hand sewn.  While cockades of any kind are not required, members of the recreated Appomattox Liberty Guard can chose to wear one on their shirt or used to pin up the side of their hat.
