Identified to an Army of Northern Virginia artilleryman who used it in 1863, this bag is likely an example of a typical mass-produced government-issue piece and is a particularly versatile haversack for Confederate impressions.  And as we have pushed this style of haversack hard for participants at our events, using one helps create a more uniform unit impression.
