Attached to the rings at the top of the hames, each set of artillery harness included two Trussing Straps meant to secure harness to the horse when not in use. In practice, these instead made very convenient straps for Drivers’ baggage. In an effort to improve our artillery impression overall, and replace broken pieces, Merrick’s Custom Leather will be reproducing these and other individual pieces of harness.  This listing is for one set of TWO trussing straps meant to complete one set of hames, and each comes with an original cast roller buckle that matches the originals that has been re-enameled.
