Save for the Confederate combs Austin Fox has made, every "good" curry comb in the hobby has been just a postwar commercial copy of the mid/late war Y-shaped comb.  These combs are copied from the wartime U.S. Army design, and specifically from an original dug at Brandy Station.  These are much more complex and spendy to reproduce than the Reb ones, with Chris Henderson, Mike Moore, and Austin Fox all needing to add their expertise into making them, but they're as good as you can get.
