Make just about any canteen you own more "Western" with this particular strap.
Long called the "Hughes, Pendergrass, and Snow" canteen strap by reenactors, it may or may not actually be a product of that firm.  Either way, the original is attached to a captured and refurbished Yankee canteen with solid provenance to Georgia in 1864.  Reproductions are almost never made quite like the original, which is made from scrap split leather (rough on both sides) and very crudely stitched together.  These are made to match exactly.
